Blacksmith Spike Martin demonstrated the processes involved in forging, hardening, tempering and grinding a knife blade. He had also produced a number of blades commissioned by members for collection on the day. Spike is a skilled craftsman and …

New work from Glen Martin

Dick Baugh Letter Carving Demonstration
Dick Baugh gave a demonstration of letter carving at Hamlet Wood on 10 November. The session was well attended and proved to be an excellent introduction to the subject. Dick has agreed to provide further demonstrations in the coming months including a session on stick making. Many thanks Dick
Carving at Woodfest, Belmont House, 2022
The Woodfest at Belmont House is an annual event with lots of exciting woodland demonstrations taking place over the weekend including chainsaw carving, wood turning, spoon carving, campfire cooking, horse logging, and pole lathe turning. The Kent Woodcarvers were back this year to show off the skills of some of our group with knife carving.
Kent County Show
We managed to attend the Kent County Show over the weekend. It was fairly quiet on the Friday, but Saturday and Sunday were well attended.
